• Step 2 - Click the appropriate membership option below and follow the instructions. We will not process the membership until the form is submitted and payment is received, if the process fails for any reason please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. • Step 3 - Print off  or screenshot the payment receipt directly from the portal. Make a note of your account login information when you create a Stripe account for payment purposes

• (**)  First aid course should contain practical CPR element. Examples of acceptable qualification; Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) First Aid at Work (FAW), First Aid for Sports And Exercise (FASE) or Appointed person, Sports Trauma or Pitchside FA. We do not currently accept online courses for membership applications

• Insurance  is NOT included in the membership price and is paid seperately to Balens, once you have applied for membership you will find the link to insurance in the members portal on the website. Once we have received your evidence, application and payment   This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. will send you 3 emails containing links to important member benefits, social media groups, insurance etc. (you may have to check your junk mail) we will also send you a link to a shared document folder on Dropbox where you can view your membership documents and then upload all your industry CPD certificates.

• Level 4 & 5 Sports Massage
• HND, Diploma or FdSc Sports Therapy
• BSc, MSc Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Sports & Exercise Therapy.

 Membership criteria

• Certain qualifications, advertised as meeting National Occupational Standards do not meet our stringent standards, however, to enable you to benefit from our affiliate member scheme, we will work with you to provide the necessary support to identify a progression route to full membership.
• We reserve the right to refuse membership applications from holders of certain qualifications unless accompanied by details of external assessment and verification procedures. This will be requested on receipt of individual application.

Unfortunately, The STA do not accept any qualifications issued by Stonebridge Associated Colleges, Distance Learning Academy, Learning skills Academy, Gateway Diplomas, Open Study College, BSY Group, NCFE, ABC awards, International Practitoners Of holistic Medicine,Active Health Group or Active Health Awards. 

The STA do not recognise Level 6 Diplomas from BTEC, Active Health Group, Active Health Awards or Master Diplomas that do not appear on a qualification framework for any membership category.
