Imposter Syndrome, the persistent inability to believe that one’s success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of one’s own efforts or skills, is something that many soft tissue therapists suffer one time or another, exacerbated by self-comparison to allied health professionals like Physiotherapists, Osteopaths or Chiropractors.
In this episode, Rebecca, known by friends as colleagues as Becky, shares her personal journey of overcoming self-doubt in the field of Sports Therapy, and how listening to Jack Chew’s comments in Ep.2 from 2020 helped her understand that many practitioners from all types of healthcare professions can suffer from imposter syndrome, especially when working solo, and how important collaboration and conversation with other therapists can be in building confidence.
With anecdotes from her own career, Rebecca highlights how embracing evidence-based practice and fostering professional relationships can help therapists tackle imposter syndrome effectively. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to the field, this episode offers valuable insights and practical advice to help you navigate the complexities of working as a therapist.
