While the traditions of acupuncture lie in Eastern medicine and form a key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this practice is not based on scientific knowledge and can present as too ‘sandals and candles’ for many clinicians who secure their clinical reasoning firmly upon anatomy and physiology.
